Cruise from Puno to the floating Uros Islands, built and maintained with totora reeds by their residents. A local presentation explains how the platforms are made, how the plant is used and what everyday life on the lake is like.

Continue to Taquile, an island known for its community organization, scenery and a textile tradition recognized by UNESCO. Walk among paths and terraces to the main village, share a local lunch and return to Puno in the afternoon.

Uros and Taquile are living communities, not staged attractions. Ask permission before photographing people, respect private areas and follow the local host’s guidance. Handicrafts and optional services are paid directly to each community.

Landing points and the order of visits may change because of weather or community coordination.

The traditional totora reed-boat ride is optional and paid locally.

Taquile requires walking on slopes and stairways at high altitude.

Carry cash in Peruvian soles for handicrafts, drinks and personal expenses.

How much walking is required on Taquile?

The visit includes one to two cumulative hours of walking on paths, slopes and stairways. The pace is relaxed, but altitude increases the effort.

Is lunch included?

Yes. A local menu on Taquile is included. Advise us in advance if you need a vegetarian option or have dietary restrictions.

Is the totora reed-boat ride included?

No. It is an optional activity offered by the Uros community and paid directly on the island.

Is the tour suitable for children or older adults?

It may be suitable if they tolerate boating and altitude well. Taquile has uneven ground and slopes, so consult before booking if mobility is limited.

Pésimo servicio. Contratamos un bus con ellos, nunca vinieron a buscarnos al hotel. No nos contestaron a ninguna llamada ni mensaje y por supuesto no nos devolvieron el dinero. Desaconsejo fuertemente esta agencia.

¡La excursión a la Montaña Arcoíris superó todas nuestras expectativas! Todo el viaje estuvo muy bien organizado, con transporte cómodo, un delicioso desayuno y almuerzo, y un guía amable y profesional que hizo que la experiencia fuera placentera de principio a fin. Las vistas durante la caminata fueron increíbles, y llegar a la cima para ver la Montaña Arcoíris valió totalmente la pena. Nuestro guía nos dio tiempo suficiente para disfrutar del paisaje, tomar fotos y aprender sobre la cultura local y los Andes circundantes. Recomiendo ampliamente esta excursión a cualquiera que visite Cusco. Todo estuvo perfectamente organizado y fue, sin duda, uno de los mejores momentos de nuestro viaje a Perú. ¡Gracias por esta aventura inolvidable!
