High-Andean lagoons and the last bridge woven in the Inca tradition

Travel southeast from Cusco to visit Pomacanchi, Acopia, Asnaqocha and Pampamarca lagoons, home to Andean and migratory birds. Continue through Yanaoca to Q’eswachaka, a suspension bridge renewed with plant fibers through community knowledge passed down for generations. Transportation, guide, admission and a snack or box lunch are included; breakfast and lunch are not.

Can I cross the bridge?

Only when its condition and local authorities permit. Safety comes first and the visit may be observation-only.

No. There is a lunch stop in Acopia; bring soles. A snack or box lunch is included.

Where does the tour end?

Normally at Regocijo Square, a few blocks from Cusco’s main square.

How long is the trip?

It is a full-day excursion with long road transfers; return begins at about 4:00 pm.

Will I see birds at the lagoons?

Andean and migratory species may be observed depending on season, but sightings are not guaranteed.

Pésimo servicio. Contratamos un bus con ellos, nunca vinieron a buscarnos al hotel. No nos contestaron a ninguna llamada ni mensaje y por supuesto no nos devolvieron el dinero. Desaconsejo fuertemente esta agencia.

¡La excursión a la Montaña Arcoíris superó todas nuestras expectativas! Todo el viaje estuvo muy bien organizado, con transporte cómodo, un delicioso desayuno y almuerzo, y un guía amable y profesional que hizo que la experiencia fuera placentera de principio a fin. Las vistas durante la caminata fueron increíbles, y llegar a la cima para ver la Montaña Arcoíris valió totalmente la pena. Nuestro guía nos dio tiempo suficiente para disfrutar del paisaje, tomar fotos y aprender sobre la cultura local y los Andes circundantes. Recomiendo ampliamente esta excursión a cualquiera que visite Cusco. Todo estuvo perfectamente organizado y fue, sin duda, uno de los mejores momentos de nuestro viaje a Perú. ¡Gracias por esta aventura inolvidable!
